About me

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Sydney, the founder of Wabi Sabi Maroc, and my work lives at the intersection of philosophy, beauty, ethics, and the lived realities of modern life and business.

At heart, I've always trusted what feels lived-in over what feels finished - how we live with it, work with it, and sometimes learn to trust it. Long before I had language for wabi-sabi, I was drawn to the uniqueness of handcrafted objects, soft edges, layered histories, and spaces that felt deeply human rather than polished or performative.

That instinct eventually became both a personal compass and an academic one.

I hold a PhD in Conscious Business Ethics, where my doctoral research explored wabi-sabi as a metaphysical framework for ethical decision-making, particularly in solopreneurship, thought leadership, and value-driven work. In other words, this philosophy isn’t just aesthetic for me; it’s structural. It informs how I think, how I work, and how I help others navigate complexity with integrity.

My relationship with Morocco began as a journey and became a homecoming. The country’s devotion to craft, its reverence for age and patina, and its comfort with contrast — raw and refined, ornate and humble — gave living form to everything I had been studying and sensing for years. Morocco didn’t teach me wabi-sabi, but it transformed my interpretation of it by giving it texture, color, and soul. I share the story of my life-changing wabi-sabi journey in Morocco in this post

Wabi Sabi Maroc grew from that meeting place.

This is a space for women who are weary of rigid systems, perfection culture, and performative living, especially solopreneurs and creatives who crave a calmer, more humane way of working and being. Much of my writing is especially resonant for women navigating later-life transitions, neurodivergence, burnout, or a desire to build lives and businesses that feel sustainable rather than extractive.

Here, I write about:

  • slow, intentional living

  • beauty as a stabilizing force

  • imperfection as wisdom

  • home as sanctuary

  • attention, energy, and care

  • conscious entrepreneurship and ethical decision-making

  • and the quiet practices that help us live inside our lives instead of constantly managing them

Think of this space as a place to exhale — a room where philosophy meets lived experience, and where beauty is allowed to be useful.

If you’re seeking permission to move more slowly, build more gently, and trust what is already unfolding — you’re in the right place.

With warmth,

Sydney
